The end of the year already! December is always such a blur- but I'm thrilled to say I accomplished everything that I wanted to, and Christmas was absolutely wonderful. I got such beautiful gifts from Sarah- the best of which was an MCR tote-bag that she hand-made. o.O When I first opened it, I absolutely believed that she had gotten promo merchandise from the band- it's that perfect. And don't even get me started on the quilt she created- with my favorite colors! *^.^*

My parents shocked me with an electric guitar. This was the same instrument I'd been drooling over- stormy metallic blue, and with an awesome shape. It's a Wildfire, and just... beautiful. ;.; I forgot how great it is to learn a new instrument!

And now, as usual, the year is at an end. I'll spare the melodromatic soap-box stuff, simply because I suck at it. :D But it was an awesome year. 2006 has alot to live up to. ^.~

Well! Twenty days later, and I've got all my shopping done! That was accomplished in a single day (which lasted until midnight), but it's finally all done! Now all I need to get done is the finishing touches to Sarah's major present, and I'll be pretty much set. Other than the wrapping. Bleh.

And then there's cleaning to be considered- Sarah and Jenn are coming on Christmas Eve and staying over, and they'll be staying in my lair room. This will require a vacuum, I'm sure.

And so ensues the adjustment to the mundane post-concert life. Just in time for Christmas stress. :D I've already got my lists nearly finished; of course, that's only a small bit of the experience. Shopping would make up the rest. (Then the wrapping, but I'd rather not think about that right now.)

So what does all this mean? Nothing much, except that I am thanking my lucky stars by name for the wonder that is coffee. XD

I can honestly say that the My Chemical Romance concert at the Dome Theatre last night was one of the major highlights of my year. So, yeah- good introduction into the concert world. Me and Sarah got there an hour and a half early, and got into the actual theatre when the doors opened at seven. Since we had been so early, we were directly up front. After waiting around a bit more, the concert opened with one of the two special guest acts, Circa Survive (who I didn't really know). They were followed by Thrice, who I did know, and who played one of my current favorites- "Image of the Invisible." And then came sound check... and then came MCR.

The show was spectacular- two huge projector screens in the shape of stained-glass windows flanked the stage, and displayed tons of different images, including the CD cover art. They played 17 songs in all, nearly every one of my favorites, a new track, and, of course, their three hits- "Helena," "Ghost of You," and "I'm NOt Okay (I Promise)" as a resounding encore.

So, all in all, it was an amazing night- one of which I'll never forget.

Ah, the world makes sense again- my new My Chemical Romance tickets arrived today, and Ticketmaster was kind enough to refund the others. So, in less that a week, I will be accomplishing one of my major goals in life- seeing a My Chemical Romance concert.

Life is so good.

In a few minutes, it'll be the 21st. o.O Ah, well- I'm always online at...sporadic times. :D The Harry Potter party was an absolute smash. On Friday, as previously stated, Sarah picked me up for the premier of Goblet of Fire. The movie was, without a doubt, the best one yet. So...yeah. Go see it. Like you haven't already.

To further celebrate, I stayed overnight at the apartment, and we kicked off our party with wand painting (I broke mine. Twice. x.x Thank my forefathers for the invention of "Gorilla Glue."), Prizoner of Azkaban watching, wizard cupcake making, and the creating of House badges and Pigmy puffs. Sarah and Jenn even obtained a HP tablecloth, cups, napkins, and "grab-bag" set. All in all, it was a very well-planned, well-constructed, and well-executed event. We totally had a blast. :D

Oh, yeah- speaking of plans- particularly ones that go awry- Friday afternoon, my Dad called, telling me he'd seen My Chemical Romance was coming to Dome Theatre, Niagara Fall, NY, on November 28 in the "Gusto" section. Toronto (the show I was supposed to go to) is hours away, and, I'm told, difficult at best to navigate. So I bought two tickets to the Niagara falls show, and am in the process of getting Ticketmaster to refund the Toronto ones. If they will. Please. o.o This is really way more cool, though- my territory and all that. After a somewhat hurried explanation, Sarah agreed, providing we have lots of coffee the day of. I totally endorse that idea. :D

Woo, I'm actually updating two days in a row! Imagine that... o.O There is 1 hour and 59 minutes left to go before Sarah picks me up. Being... so like I am, everything is packed, done...ready. And I'm left with an hour and 58 minutes to twitch, waiting. (Maybe I shouldn't have had that quart of coffee...)

I just love Western New York. Around here, you learn how to say "wind chill" and "lake effect" before you can say "Mommy" or "Daddy," and you go to sleep one night with green ground and wake up with over a foot of snow piled everywhere. Which is what happened last night/this morning. Still, I can't say that I'm not positively brimming with holiday feelings and excitement. It's a winter thing, I imagine. Along with snow somehow finding its way into knee-high snowmobile boots. Yay.

The day of the Harry Potter party is nigh! Tomorrow, actually. I've been preparing for a week- getting lists together of what I want to bring/wear/do and all other things fun. I also should make a digital note here for myself that I have to bring the third movie DVD to Sarah's. x.x I just know I'll forget, someway or other.

And I'm conducting a very scientific experiment- can chocolate chip cookie dough be made into a shape very similar to the Harry Potter lightning bolt? We shall see... :D

Friday, November 11, 2005

As if the entire world doesn't already know, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is coming to a theatre near you on November 18. :D So just what am I going to do about it?

Well, party, of course. Sarah and Jenn are inviting me over for a "Harry Potter Party" and sleepover. We will begin with seeing the new movie on Friday (the day it comes out), and watching the other three on Saturday. o.O That's, like, 10 hours of movie watching. But these things happen only so often- you've just got to grasp these opportunities as they come, y'know? :D

My sister, through exhaustion, has shortened her threats to letters: UYB. This stands for "Update Your Blog," and is generally accompanied by a swat, or, at least, a long-suffering stare. Ah, well, the least I can do is humor, hm?

So, over the weekend, Sarah drove through little less than a tornado to pick me up, and take me to the apartment, in which I was introduced to The Karate Kid, which makes me nostalgic for Karate. I used to take it, but my dojo shut down shortly after I got my yellow belt (no- that's not a high rank). I've since been making due with Tae Bo, but there's a difference between a video and the real thing. So I'll add that to the list of things I want to take up when I get a license and a job. :D

Halloween time is such fun, isn't it? Last weekend, I stayed at Sarah and Jenn's apartment for a sleepover, during which we watched Ginger Snaps (prequel to Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning- one of my favorite movies of all time. :D), Queen of the Damned, Nightmare on Elm Street, and a particularly freakish episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And, believe it or not, we still found time to visit a local 5-in-1 haunted house, Frightworld. Which wasn't scary, but at least I get the feeling of accomplishment that can only be attained by saying "I went to a haunted house." Yay. And, I have just dedicated the last two hours of my life to watching The Blair Witch Project. That just totally killed my desire to go camping. Ever.

Tomorrow, since it's a weekend day that all and sundry have off from work/school/life, it has been decided that Sarah and Jenn will come over to my (hah) place for general Halloween fun and partying.

If all goes according to my plans...I'm kidnapping them on my 6-wheeler.

There's just something wrong with waking up at 5 in the morning. x.x Today is the day I get to drive with my Dad 3 hours (one way :D) with our litter of Newfounland pups to get their hearts cardiologist cleared- which is a big deal with the breed. And it's totally foggy outside. Essentially, I wouldn't be quite truthful if I said I didn't enjoy this just a little... I'm very grateful that he likes only the coolest music. :D

The MCR concert tickets arrived yesterday, and now reside in the ultra-secret compartment of my desk. And they're good seats! Finally! Pre-sales are the only way to go. :D

And speaking of going, I have a long way to go today... ;p At the least, there's alot of coffee involved.

Monday, October 10, 2005

Life's good when you've got a quart of coffee and a pint of (caffeinated) green tea humming through your dilated veins. (This doesn't happen often, so it must be savored.) :D

Considering that it's nearly halfway through October, Sarah is now planning the haunted house list. Two years ago, I used to rank them up on my phobia lists right alongside heights and chupacabres, but after actually volunteering to lead in all the houses last year, I'm proud to say I've basically cured myself. (It's all in the breathing: if you hold your breath, you can't scream, and bonus- no smoke machine or latex fumes in your sinuses for the rest of the evening.) So far, we've definitely decided on Six Flag's Fright Fest, and a local Haunted Hayride, should the weather buck up. ;p

Last night, I introduced (even though I hadn't actually watched it before) Scary Movie II to Sarah and Jenn...for those of you who don't know it, and prefer... teen... movies- do watch it. :D For those of you who do... I want that parrot. Badly.

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

Okay, so I procrastinate. Thanks to the constant urgings/promptings/beggings/threats from Sarah, I am updating my blog once more. It's simply amazing how much crap can happen in only a few months- allow me to ellaborate. :D

First off, I am positively thrilled beyond any measure comprehendable to announce that me and Sarah will be going to see my all-time favorite band, My Chemical Romance, in Toronto on December 1. This is my first concert experience, so who could ask for a better start? They are the best band. Ever. Buy a CD.

I am, at long last, in my final year of high school. Boo ya. Thanks to slaving with electives for three years straight, I got off kind of easy this year- only a few subjects! This allows me much for time for plotting planning.... college, summer job... next MCR concert... so many things to do. }:>

Like... sleep. I've just noticed it's 11:46 p.m...which is still technically early for me. Ah, well- there's the possibility of another entry within the next few months.

So... goodnight.

Or is it morning?

Wow- long time, no blog. For those of thee out there that don't know me- hello, great t'seeya, keep reading! A point may emerge! For those of you who do remember me from long ago and far away on internet land through various sites... please forget what you know. :D

It's been bloody ages since I closed this thingy down, only to re-enact it. It's like a double shot of nostalgia (and I'd rather have the espresso. ^v^). Why am I re-opening my blog? A)- I have hopefully matured beyond the tender time of entries that simply contained "I had a good day." (I said "hopefully"- I make no promises.) B)- My sister believes it's cheaper to rant online than to a shrink. Good reasons, aren't they?

So... let us begin.

Today, I'm currently trying to get all sorts of stuff done in preparation for this wonderful picnic/hike thingy me and Sarah are having tomorrow. So, today thus far I have worked out (for those of you who don't know me, I love working out. :D It's me life. Go here for my favorite workout, and look me up in a few years- I'm gonna be a personal trainer! (ps- be afraid)), made rations for the forementioned picnic, and gathered a bunch of items of which I hope to be listing on eBay in the next hour or so... as soon as I take some pictures of them. :D After that, I'll finish this Sunday's latest installment on Not My Doom- me and Sarah's web comic. Fun, fun, fun.

So... if you'll excuse me now, I must... how do they say? Book it. XD
